I just checked the Brittanica definition, and it is as follows:

“Many Roma refer to themselves by one generic name, Rom (meaning “man” or “husband”), and to all non-Roma by the term Gadje (also spelled Gadze or Gaje; a term with a pejorative connotationmeaning “bumpkin,” “yokel,” or “barbarian”).”

Please just own the part where you failed to read thoroughly, and then passed on incorrect information, the kind of thing which is deeply hurtful to myself and my people.

The information in Brittanica is correct.
